The role of the mothers of the believers in the construction and development of Islam

Hafiz Muhammad Jameel (Research Scholar Darul Uloom Jamia Naeemia, Islamabad)

Since the beginning of Islam, hundreds of thousands of veiled women have participated in every sphere of life, from the corner of peace to the battlefield, and have played their part in building an Islamic society. The virtue of the mothers of the believers is proved by the Holy Quran. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) exalted him with the title of Kahd min al-Nisaa ‘, which proves that the closeness of the spouses of the purified ones is in the Divine Court.
Hazrat Khadija Al-Kubra, Ayesha Siddiqa, Hafsa, Umm Habiba, Umm Salma, Zainab bint Jahsh are from Quraysh. Allahu anha, Syeda Maimuna (RA), Syeda Zainab Khazeema (RA), Syeda Jawariya (RA) are non-Arabs and one Syeda Safia (RA) is from non-Arab children of Israel. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was the first of the believersIt is mentioned in this verse that you have an attribute that is not present in others, that is, you are the mother of the believers in terms of prohibition of marriage and respect, and the wives are the messengers of the Messengers. Allama Ibn Hazm has written a total of 2560 hadiths narrated from more or less the Companions in his book “Al-Samaa Al-Sahabiyya Al-Rawaat Wa Malikl Wahid Min Al-Adad”. The number of these narrations is 2210. (Baqi bin Mukhlid Al-Qurtubi, p. 79)
Of these, 286 hadiths are found in Bukhari and Muslim. In terms of the number of narrations, they are the sixth among the Companions.
(The Role of Women in the Service of Hadith p. 17 Compiled by Mujeebullah Nawawi)
Along with the abundance of narrations, he also had special distinctions in researching and researching the causes of reasoning and inference from hadiths, jurisprudence and law, history, genealogy, poetry, medicine, and astrology.
There are many examples of him in the books of Hadith. Very few of his Companions shared his attributes. In the case of the Prophet, Ayesha was ahead of Hazrat Anhasib.
Imam Zuhri, who was from the tribe of Tabein, says:
Kant Ayesha Ilm Al-Nas Basayha Al-Akbar from the Companions of the Prophet
Translation: Hazrat Ayesha (RA) was the most knowledgeable person among the people. The great Companions used to solve many problems with her.
In the second place, it is said that if the knowledge of all the mothers of the believers, but also the knowledge of all Muslim women, is combined, then the knowledge of Hazrat Ayesha will be the best.
(Civilization)
Hazrat Ayesha (RA) used to teach and teach. Not only that, but she also pointed out the slips of the Companions.
Allama Jalaluddin Suyuti has written a permanent book on this subject under the name of “Al-Sahaba Fima Estadrakta Ayesha Ali Al-Sahaba”. The number of narrators of Hazrat Ayesha is more than 100.
His special student and nephew Urwah bin Zubair says that he was in the company of Hazrat Ayesha (RA). I knew more about the revelation of verses, duties and Sunnah, poetry and literature, history of Arabia and genealogy of tribes etc. Didn’t see anyone. (Sir Al-Alam Anbald, Dhahabi)
Hazrat Musa al-Ash’ari states that the Companions did not face any difficult problem which they could not find a solution with Hazrat Ayesha.
Mahmud ibn Labid narrates that the wives of the Holy Prophet (sws) memorized many hadiths but Hazrat Ayesha and Umm Salma (may Allah be pleased with them all) were prominent among them. They would immediately express their problems to you and you would explain them.
Once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, which will be reckoned with, the torment will be seized.
فسو ف یحاسب حسابا یسیرا
So soon it will be easy to calculate.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: What is meant by this is the prediction of deeds. He whose deeds will be severely judged is doomed.
He lived for about 50 years after him. So the people benefited a lot from him. He took part in the battle of Uhud.
A quarter of the work of Shari’ah is narrated from him (Fath al-Bari Ibn Hajar 4797)
Hazrat Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) and Hazrat Umm Salma (may Allah be pleased with her) appear to be distinguished in the hadiths after Hazrat Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her). Regarding their status in the science of hadith, Muhammad ibn Labid says: But Hazrat Ayesha and Umm Salma were the most prominent in this regard. (Tabaqat Ibn Sa’d p. 378 vol. II)
His fatwas are often found. Allama Ibn Qayyim has written that if the fatwas of Umm Salma are collected, a small treatise can be prepared. They are counted in the third category of hadith narrators. And some of the Companions are also included.
Like these two, the other wives of the purified ones also took part in the narration and publication of the hadith and even greater Jalil-ul-Qadr Sahabah and Tabeen received the hadith. 65 hadiths have been narrated from Hazrat Umm Habiba, out of which 2 are unanimous. 60 hadiths have been narrated from Hazrat Hafsa, 5 of which are in Bukhari. 11 hadiths have been narrated from Hazrat Zainab bin Jahsh. There are 2 of them who agree.
